Man & Food, the Origins is a global journey exploring the relationship between environments and the traditional ancestral diets of seven self-sufficient communities. Food – often arduous to attain – defines every aspect of their lives. Plucked. Washed. Sliced. Salted. Preserved and cooked. This book documents the painstaking processes by which they acquire food, what sustains them and how the environment shapes their lifestyles.
The triangular relationship between man, nature and food is a common thread woven through each of these stories. From the Inuit of Greenland to the Bajau of Malaysia, these images alert us to the direct link between what we eat, our well-being and the preservation of our world.
