In Altai Mountains of Western Mongolia, the ancient tradition of hunting with Golden Eagles is still alive. Following a 2000-year old custom, Kazakh nomads train their eagles to hunt for rabbits and foxes. Yearly, hunters travel days to celebrate this skill in a colorful festival.

Summer 1998 - 60 rolls of film, a backpack and 2 months of walking and hitchhiking across Mongolia, East to West. I was testing myself as a photographer. I didn't know what I was doing.
